1917 WWI Draft Registration

June 5, 1917

Johann and Minnie’s son, Arthur, my great-grandfather, registered for the World War I Draft on June 5, 1917.

Arthur listed that his current employer was “John Thielke” in the Town of Grafton and he was working as a Farmer. For the question “Have you a father, mother, wife, child under 12, or a sister or brother under 12, solely dependent on your for support (specify which)” he lists “Parents.” So, he must have been helping them keep their farm. I can only assume they still live on the original Thielke land.
