Zalewski Family Tree Project
I’d like to compile the largest database of Zalewski Family Trees. As we get more and more family trees entered and merged together, we may find connections that we’ve never known about before. This could help all Zalewski family researchers.
I will take your family tree in almost any format:
- GEDCOM
- Family Tree Maker
- XML
- HTML
- Text Files
- Hard Copy
As long as I can easily import it into my software and website. I don’t mind if I have to enter it by hand.
Send your trees and information to The Zalewski Family Tree Project.

I have a few Zalewski’s in my family research. Michael Zalewski was married to Veronica Peplinski and lived near Warsaw, North Dakota. They had five children. The story is that Michael was killed when a horse spooked by lightning trampled him. Veronica remarried Anton Byzewski and had seven more children. They sold their land in North Dakota, packed up and moved to Detroit. The oldest two Zalewski boys stayed behind and continued to farm. Their descendants are still in the area. I don’t know if these Zalewski’s are in your family tree but if they are I have census and homestead records if you are interested. (The name has been spelled several different ways on documents, Zalifski, Zilewski, Zelesky, Silewski)

Has anyone here come across a Teofila Zalewska, b: abt 1871, d: June 1937, married to Jan Siemiatkowski in Zielona, Poland and mother to Marianna Siemiatkowska, b: 15 Oct 1887?
I’m building my tree on Ancestry.com – how I came across your site – and Teofila is my great-great grandmother. Haven’t been able to find anything reasonable on Ancestry, and have hit a dead-end.
Her father may have been born abt. 1850 and she settled with her husband in Gosciszka (Zuromin), Poland where all her children were born.
Any help would be really appreciated. I can be reached at tj.mcbride@gmail.com.
Thanks,
T.J.
