1900 US Census

1900

Johann and his family are next listed in the 1900 US Census for Grafton. He is now listed with his new wife Minnie and also my great-grandfather, and their son, Arthur. Also listed are Minnie’s two previous children and Johann’s step-children, Annie and Frank HOLZ. Minnie’s mother, Fredericke RATHKE, is also living with them.

According to a listing from the 1900 Ozaukee County Directory, it lists John Thielke living in section 9 of Grafton, which is where the land owned by his father in the 1892 Grafton Plat Map is located. So, John probably farmed on this land after his parents passed away.

This census also matches up with his expected immigration date of 1854.
